Ralph A. Davies

Ralph A. Davies coordinates product liability litigation across the country for a number of national and international corporations. His clients have designated him lead trial counsel in cases in multiple jurisdictions in addition to Pennsylvania. He has successfully defended the manufacturers of such diverse products as welding rods, truck, auto and off-road vehicle tires, medical devices and equipment, lighting fixtures, mining equipment, sprinkler systems, hard hats and safety belts, ladders and scaffolding, breathing apparatus, respirators and gas monitors, tee-shirts and protective clothing, food stuffs, power circuit breakers, gas grills, motor vehicles, chain binders and punch presses. In addition to product liability, he has extensive trial experience in the areas of commercial and insurance litigation, professional negligence, toxic torts and motor vehicles.

Mr. Davies was born and raised in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, and was graduated from its high school before attending Princeton University and the Duquesne University School of Law. He is a member of the Princeton Alumni Association of Western Pennsylvania and a Past President of the Duquesne University Law Alumni Association, on whose Board of Governors he has served.

Mr. Davies is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Davies is a member of the ABA’s Section of Litigation and Tort & Insurance Practice Section and has served on the Product Liability Subcommittee. His activities in the Allegheny County Bar Association include having served as Administrative Vice President, a Member of the Board of Governors, a Trustee of The Lawyers’ Fund, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Louis Little Attorneys Memorial Fund, Chair of the Civil Litigation Section, and he also served on the Headquarters Committee, Finance Committee, Judiciary Committee and Medical-Legal Committee. He received the Allegheny County Bench-Bar Award in 1992. He is a founding fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Inns of Court, and has been a member of the Products Liability Advisory Council as well as the International Association of Defense Counsel.
