Megan J. Block is an associate attorney at Davies, McFarland and Carroll. Ms. Block’s practice focuses on the area of health care law, with a particular concentration in medical malpractice defense. She has experience in representing a wide array of health care systems, hospitals, physician practice groups, physicians, and health care professionals in malpractice actions, disciplinary investigations, and licensing matters. Ms. Block’s background also involves extensive general civil litigation, trial and appellate work, including class actions and complex litigation, in both state and federal court. She enjoys counseling clients on a variety of health care issues related to peer review, data privacy, credentialing, licensure, National Practitioner Data Bank reporting, and risk management.

Prior to joining Davies, McFarland and Carroll, Ms. Block practiced within the medical professional liability defense litigation group at a Pittsburgh-based regional law firm. She also previously served as a judicial law clerk for the Court of Common Pleas in Somerset County and, during law school, she clerked for a local plaintiff’s personal injury firm, the City of Pittsburgh Law Department, and Duquesne University’s Urban Redevelopment Clinic.
